A better, sustainable world needs better, sustainably produced toys. This is the starting point of the Plan Toys brand.
Under this banner, toys are created that are elegant and rather economical in expression, but likable and always open to the ideas of small users. The brand was founded by several friends who met while studying architecture in Bangkok. They set up the factory in the city of Trang, where the initiator of the whole venture Vitool Viraponsavan comes from. From the beginning, the idea was very much connected to the place and the rubber plantations there, which have always fascinated Viraponsavan.
The young architects decided to produce toys from trees that no longer produce latex, doomed to be cut down. And now the best part - they use them all. Nothing is wasted. The best pieces of wood are immediately processed into toys. The heat-treated waste is used to create PlanWood, a patented material that is a trademark of the brand. Hard, pleasant to the touch, water-resistant PlanWood is used, among other things, for toys that can accompany a child in the bath. Boats from Plan Toys are our classics. PlanWood is almost indestructible - we, at least, don't know a child who would be able to threaten it. And indeed, we have seen the kaleidoscopic camera from Plan Toys fall from various heights many times.
Ecological toys from Plan Toys contain no harmful substances, and the concern for this starts back at the plantation. Three years before the planned cutting, the trees are cut off from any artificial chemicals, so that no trace of their effects is deposited in the wood. The toys are colored with organic pigments and their parts are joined with formaldehyde-free glue.
At Plan Toys, they go to great lengths to reduce the negative environmental effects of their production. They conduct their own plantings and pride themselves on their status as a "carbon neutral" company. They power their toy museum, which operates next to the factory, entirely through solar batteries. They donate part of their income to the operation of their own foundation that runs a library, park and various community projects. And recently, to celebrate their 30th anniversary, they released a series of toys designed for children with autism, cerebral palsy and the blind. How not to love them here?
Sustainable material, sustainable production, sustainable mind - these are the pillars of Plan Toys' business. If you're looking for toys that help change the world for the better, you've just found them.
