Goki aka Gollnest & Kiesel The well-known and well-liked German company produces wooden toys for children and revives traditional design. The company was founded in 1981 by Gerhard Gollnest and Fritz-Rüdiger Kiesl. Frank Jungclaus, who today is the third managing director, also joined the toy team. The brand is constantly inventing new products to make childhood even more colorful. But it doesn't end with great toys alone - Goki of its activities is committed to responsibility, social commitment and ecology.
Goki designs and manufactures responsibly - the brand's toys are made from wood from sustainably managed areas. In addition, efforts are made to ensure that as many of the items produced are recyclable as possible. However, this is not the end of responsible management at Goki. In the words of Fritz-Rüdiger Kiesel: "Whoever takes something from nature must also give something back to nature." That's why Goki donates a new forest to Schleswig-Holstein, Germany's least forested state, every year - planting one tree for every newborn. Since 2004, 400,000 beech, oak and maple trees have been planted this way.
Additionally, the brand has set an ambitious goal and wants to eliminate plastics (PVC, PU, ABS and PS) from all toys to replace them with environmentally friendly alternatives.
The brand is active in pro-social activities involving, among other things, building schools in developing countries such as Mali, Peru and Uganda. Goki's factories in China implement high safety standards and measures to improve labor quality and protect workers.
Safety is not only important in the context of production work - the toys themselves go through a series of tests and are precisely inspected to ensure that the highest quality products reach children. No wonder the brand has been repeatedly awarded the "Spiel gut" award, which tests the durability and safety of toys and their developmental qualities. Goki is also recognized in national and international markets for supporting sustainable development and innovative design.
We also appreciate Goki and love the brand for drawing on tradition, love of wood and fantastic solutions to stimulate children's imagination.
